Just a few minutes ago ended the penultimate conference of the at the U.S. Center 2010 Cancun. The speakers present were Gary Eilerts (USAID) and James Verdin (NIDIS). APMR launched two questions for the two speakers:
1. You offer all this info to the African governments or also helping them implementing viable policies regarding all this?
2. By what criteria you have elected those countries? And not those from North Africa for example.
The two have said that as far as possible they provide their information to African governments to help create viable policies and that countries were chosen based on the databases, infrastructure, relations etc., preexisting. Perhaps in future the studies will move to North Africa and Eastern Europe.
